The second half of the LP is devoted toSchoenberg'sString Trio, Op. 45, one of the composer's most demanding and deeply personal chamber works. The work employs Schoenberg'stwelve-tone technique while remaining intensely expressive, alternating passages of agitation, lyricism, and eerie stillness.
