Original radio transcription record from Rolling Stone Magazine Productions, produced for distribution to rock radio stations as part of The Continuous History of Rock and Roll syndicated series.

This is Show No. 11 – “Christmas Rocks,” originally scheduled for broadcast December 19 & 20, 1981.

Included is one 12-inch LP containing Side One and Side Three, along with the original Rolling Stone Magazine Productions cue sheet.

PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT the complete two-record/four-side program. Sides 2 and 4 are NOT included.

The surviving record contains portions of the Christmas program featuring classic holiday recordings by major rock artists.

Side One includes:

Jethro Tull – “Christmas Song”
The Kinks – “Father Christmas”
Greg Lake – “I Believe in Father Christmas”
Plus program narration and original Budweiser commercial material

Side Three includes:

John Lennon / Yoko Ono – “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)”
Bruce Springsteen – “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town”
Program close, credits and original commercial material

The original cue sheet also documents material from the complete broadcast by Keith Richards, Elton John, Eagles, Billy Squier and Paul McCartney; however, those portions are on Side Two and therefore are NOT present on the included record.

Condition: Pre-owned vintage broadcast record. Vinyl shows visible surface marks, light scratches/scuffs and signs of handling/use. Labels show some wear around the spindle hole. Original paper sleeve has age toning, wrinkles and edge wear. Cue sheet shows age, handling wear, creasing and some discoloration. Record has not been play-tested, so it is being sold based on visual condition. Please examine all photographs carefully.

A terrific piece of early-1980s rock-radio history, with particular crossover appeal to collectors of Bruce Springsteen, John Lennon, Jethro Tull, The Kinks, Greg Lake, Rolling Stone memorabilia and vintage radio transcription records.
