Exclusive Seller CollectionHere, on two compact discs, are four different audio dramatizations and a hard cover book ofCharles Dickens\' A CHRISTMAS CAROLDisc 1Otto Kruger(1885-1974) as Scrooge. This recently re-discovered radio broadcast is from the early 1950\'s. Sponsored by the U.S. Navy. Kruger was famous for his many film roles--often as villain.
Basil Rathbone(1892-1967) as Scrooge. Unlike the fairly common commercial releases with Rathbone, this is the original 1943 Armed Forces Radio Broadcast. While the script is essentially the same as the commercial release, this rare radio version has a patriotic World War II introduction and closing.
Disc 2Reginald Owen (1887-1972) as Scrooge. Here Owen recreates his original 1938 MGM film role. This December 15, 1938 version is from an hour-long variety show called \"Good News of 1939\". Each week the show promoted a different MGM movie. The Christmas Carol portion of the show runs about 20 minutes and is included here. This broadcast also features other actors from the film version including Gene Lockhart, Kathleen Lockhart, Ann Rutherford, and Ronald Sinclair. The AChristmas Carol segment is introduced here by an ailing Lionel Barrymore.Also on disc 2isa 40 minute production of A Christmas Carol with an unknown cast. Long thought to be a 1931 BBC production, many now believe that it is an NBC show produced in the mid-to-late 1930\'s intended for nationwide syndication to NBC radio stations. This last program has some surface noise found in the original source recording. It is being included here for its excellent production values.**The cd\'s will come inside a vintage hardcover book that was published in 1989 for the Amoco Oil Company. The book has 28 pages and is illustrated throughout with color art by Marshall Cavendish. The book measures about 6.5\" X 6.25\". The cd\'s fit neatly inside the bookand come in colorful paper sleeves. Discs are in unlabeled like-new condition with a separate printed description.The book is in excellent clean condition. The original book owner\'s name (inside the front cover) has been blacked out (see scan 5)BONUS ITEM: you\'ll getan additional 2 cd set witha dramatic reading of the storyby actor Patrick Stewart (SEE LAST SCAN)
