Joseph Jarman - "Song For"; Goody Records GY 30003, Vol. 3, 1971 French reissue; originally rec 1967 and released as Delmark DL-410. LP NM, sleeve VG+, slight ring wear and browning. Jarman's first session for Delmark, and another legendary set by a future member of the Art Ensemble of Chicago. Also features Steve McCall and Fred Anderson, two founding members of the AACM. Jarman's was the 3rd release from this very limited series.

Accurate information on this French label is difficult to ascertain. This distinctively packaged limited series of albums was supervised by Jean Luc Young, one of the co-owners of theBYG/Actuellabel, and Claude Delcloo, the French drummer appearing on many Actuel recordings, including one as a leader. Some reports have Goody as the BYG/Actuel discount label. It seems that it operated in similar fashion toAmerica Records, i.e. acquiring masters illegally and pressing inferior copies without payment to the artists. The catalogue numbers are listed as GY 3000_ on the record backs and as GY 300_ on the record spines. It is unclear as to the reason.
