Brian May 2014 Gold Sixpence

Minted in 2014, this is the rarest Brian May collector\'s sixpence coin, gold-plated it is one of only 100 specially minted to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the \'Red Special\' guitar, built by Sir Brian May and his father in 1964.

This sixpence was quickly removed from sale in 2014 and the remaining stock were bundled with a Brian May Guitar (a BMG Special).

This sixpence is made of Cupro-Nickel and has been gold-plated, it is supplied in the original protective plastic coin capsule (the case is 36 mm in diameter) with black sponge mount and displayed in the original Pobjoy Mint display case made with red faux leather.

Brian May still plays the guitar with a sixpence coin as a plectrum (guitar pick).
