Complete 12-CD Hyperion boxed set, catalogue number CDS44101/12, released in 2002. Hyperion describes the collection as the complete St Paul’s Cathedral Psalter, with a total running time of more than 13½ hours.

The collection presents all 150 Psalms, sung according to the Anglican choral tradition using the familiar Book of Common Prayer text, freshly pointed by John Scott and set to a large selection of traditional and modern Anglican chants.

The twelve discs progress through the entire Psalter:

Disc 1 begins with Psalms 1–17 and the sequence continues through the complete Psalter, with Disc 12 containing Psalms 139–150.

This is an unusually substantial recording of the Anglican Psalter and an excellent collection for anyone interested in Anglican church music, the Book of Common Prayer, cathedral choirs, sacred choral music, or the Psalms.

The recordings were made at St Paul’s Cathedral, London, and exploit the distinctive acoustics of the cathedral. Contemporary reviews were exceptionally favorable; Gramophone predicted that the achievement would remain unique for decades, while Cathedral Music praised the singing, language and organ accompaniments.

CONDITION

All 12 CDs are present and in good condition.

Original outer boxed case is present, showing some light shelf/storage wear.

Individual printed paper sleeves/covers are present for 11 of the 12 discs. One disc is missing its individual paper cover/sleeve.
