People Are Strange, Love Me Two Times, Moonlight Drive, Strange Days, When the Music’s Over — this is peak late-’60s Doors: eerie keyboards, Robby Krieger’s guitar cutting through the haze, and Jim Morrison sounding like he’s delivering warnings from another dimension.

This 2009 U.S. 180g Elektra pressing is a particularly nice modern edition. The lacquers were cut at Bernie Grundman Mastering under the direct supervision of Bruce Botnick and Jac Holzman, giving this reissue a real pedigree rather than making it just another catalog repress.

It also recreates the feel of the original stereo issue, right down to the vintage-style Elektra presentation. If you want Strange Days on heavyweight vinyl without hunting down a fragile 1967 original, this is exactly the kind of pressing to own.
